Some of the cast are reunited on 'Where Are They Now?'
In August 2006 the E Street cast appeared on the show 'Where are they now?' They spoke about their E Street memories and what their lives have been like since.
Alyssa-Jane Cook (Lisa), Marcus Graham (Wheels), Bruce Samazan (Max), Melissa Tkautz (Nikki) and Melissa Bell (Bonnie) were present in the studio to relive some humourous memories. They were later bowled over to see the the youngest member of the gang, Brooke Mikey Anderson (Claire) emerge as a stunning young woman. After a few more stories were shared, Vince Martin who played Steven Richardson joined then via satelite link.
Alyssa-Jane spoke about being a part of one of the shows hottest romances. She said her famous bath scene with Marcus Graham was the first TV sex scene she'd ever done and so had no idea what the term 'closed set' meant. She sooned learned that it meant everyone from far and wide would be viewing their secret scene! Alyssa-Jane is still acting and also works as a presenter.
Marcus Graham said he was thrilled to get the role of Wheels as he had just graduated from drama school. The idea of playing a guy in a wheelchair excited him as he knew it would be challenging. He said he enjoyed his bath scene with Alyssa-Jane as it was relaxing to work in a bubble bath. Marcus is still working as an actor and has a string of successful TV and theatre credits to his name.
Bruce spoke about his quite rise to fame and the madness that went with being involved with E Street. He said the fame was something they all had to get used to very quickly and for Bruce it reached it's height in 1992 when he won the Silver Logie for Most Popular Male Talent. He also spoke of his rap single 'One of a Kind' and surrounded by much laughter he said that is was it definitly was! Bruce said kissing Melissa Tkautz was nerveracking as she was so young at the time and very nervous.
Melissa spoke about the fast turnaround between arriving on E Street and recording her first single 'Read my Lips'. She said Forrest Redlich invited her to his office and asked if she would like to record the track. Melissa did so and quickly became one of Australia's hottest stars. She found kissing Bruce extremely hard as she had never kissed a boy before..
Melissa spoke about the crazy clothes she got to wear as Bonnie and said it was great to play dress ups everyday. She enjoyed the character as she always had a cause to fight.
Brooke Mikey Anderson
Brooke arrived on stage and sat beside her shocked colleagues who couldn't quite believe how much she'd grown up. Brooke said she looked up to the E Street cast but never understood her teenage co-stars being jealous of all the great scenes she shared with Marcus Graham. However she now realises what the fascination was! Brooke is now based in LA working as an actress, writer and producer. She said she'd love to work with the E Street cast again.
Sporting a new hairstyle and a beard Vince Martin was almost unrecognisable as E Street's bad guy Steven Richardson. However as soon as he spoke those haunting tones of Mr Bad came flooding back. Now working as Jazz musician in New York, Vince recalled the horror of being stared as he went to buy some petrol one night. He figured he had just been recognised but soon realised that he had left the set and was still wearing full makeup, meaning one half of his face was silver and the half was black.
